Start With the Air Filter

Check around the indoor unit, air handler, or closet for standing water, stains, or unusual humidity. For a ductless unit, look for dripping from the front panel or wall-mounted head. Outside, confirm that the drain outlet is not blocked by mud, mulch, or insects.
